Northern Lights (late September - early  April)

The Northern Lights are visible from late September to early April, when the nights are long and dark. Winter, with its extended darkness, provides the most optimal conditions for aurora viewing. However, it’s essential to be in a location away from artificial lights, like the remote setting of The Mirror Suite, for the best experience.
To catch the Northern Lights, start by checking the forecast for aurora activity. To improve your chances,  monitor both the Aurora Index (KP Index) and cloud coverage. For optimal viewing conditions you need a combination of a high Aurora Index, low cloud coverage, and darkness. Check out our full guide!

Enchanting Summer

Summer in Iceland offers nearly 24 hours of daylight, thanks to the midnight sun, allowing you to explore the natural beauty of the country at any time of day. The weather is generally mild, making it ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, horseback riding, whale watching, and exploring the stunning fjords. Iceland’s flora is in full bloom, and wildlife, like puffins and whales, are easy to spot. The peak tourist season means that many popular attractions can become crowded, and accommodation prices are often higher in summer. However, thanks to The Mirror Suite’s more remote location, you can still enjoy a peaceful and secluded retreat away from the busy tourist areas.

Spring Awakening

Spring in Iceland is a time of renewal, with snow melting and nature coming back to life. Waterfalls are at their most powerful due to snowmelt, and the landscape transforms into vibrant shades of green. Days start getting longer, giving you more time to explore without the crowds of summer. Spring is also an ideal time for spotting newborn lambs and migratory birds returning to the island.
